How Our Online Islamic School Works

Studio Arabiya's Online Islamic School will give your child a quality, consistent and interactive Arabic, Quran and Islamic studies education program for the whole school year. With multiple timing options to choose from, your child will have one to two weekly classes in each subject, making it a perfect program to integrate into your homeschool schedule or to complement a traditional school curriculum. We are also offering an optional "Hifz Track" on the weekend for children who would like to memorize the whole Quran over the course of the entire K-12 program insha'Allah.
Your child will look forward to learning with their teachers and interacting live with peers while building their confidence in and love for their Islamic education insha'Allah. Classes will be held through our online Learning Management System, where you will be able to clearly see the goals of the course, have your child attend their live classes, assess their progress through assignments and exams, communicate with the teachers and earn a certificate upon completing a course.

Course description:
Reading, learning & applying the Tajweed rules, understanding and memorizing.
Each grade will take one level of our Curriculum through the whole year (2 semesters) as well as learn the meaning of the words so the student can understand the meanings of the Quran.
The student should memorize about 17 Juza’ of the Holy Quran by the end of grade 12 (it might change according to the student’s level). (See complete course objectives per level in the "More About Our Online Islamic School" section below.)

We developed a unique teaching method that makes learning online fun, easy, and exciting. The Online Islamic School is our way of helping out parents who are looking for classes for their children for the whole school year and want to ensure that they are getting the highest quality education in the fields of the Arabic Language, Islamic Studies, and all aspects of learning the Quran. Teaching these subjects requires teachers who are dedicated and knowledeable, and who can make sure your children learn correctly.

Who is the Online Islamic School for?

The Online Islamic School is for any child or teen who needs a structured schoolyear plan to learn Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies. We offer 13 levels that follow the American school system (Kindergarten through 12th Grade) and will allow for a step-by-step but steady progression for your child. Classes are held everyday for 45 minutes from Monday through Friday, with an optional Whole Quran Track on Saturday and Sunday.

How does it work?

When the fall semester begins, you will have access to your course materials in your online portal account. Parents: you will get access to each child's course, so you can monitor and review with them what they are learning. Your child will sign in to his account, access the class through their online calendar, and attend the sessions. 

Classes use a mix of lecture-style learning and interactive learning, where students can interact with the teacher, answer questions, and more during the live sessions.  Teachers are available for questions outside of class time in the class discussion area and you can connect with other students in the class.  

The teacher will assign homework and the class will have exams and quizzes. Your online portal account will also give you access to online learning materials, such as flashcards, listening practices, videos, and curriculum.

How do I enroll my child?

You can easily enroll your child by filling out this form and paying the $25 application fee that will be invoiced to you. Our Student Support Team will then create your Parent and Student Online Portal, and you will be able to schedule your child's placement test.

KINDERGARTEN:

Arabic course objectives - At the end of this grade the learner should be able to:

Islamic Studies course objectives - 
At the end of this grade the learner should be able to:

  • Recites the following surahs with Tajweed: Al Fatihah, Al Ikhlas, Annas, Al Masad.
  • Expresses in his/her own way the complete meaning and narrates some surahs (to identify the surahs).
  • Listens to four hadiths:
    • Propagation of greetings.
    • Your smile in your brother's face is a charity.
    • Exchange gifts, then you will love each other.
    • A man who guides others to good acts will have a reward equals to the reward of its doer.
  • Concludes the most important Prophetic guidance included in the hadiths.
  • Speaks about a number of Allah creatures in the natural world around him/her
  • Expresses his/her love to Allah, the creator of him/her and the creator of the whole universe.
  • Classifies a number of Allah creatures in the worlds of humans, plants and animals.
  • Speaks widely about two of Allah's blessings (senses, food and drinks).
  • Expresses in his/her ways his/her love to parents.
  • Applies the values of honesty and trustfulness in life situations.
  • Applies the morals of dealing with others (parents – brothers).

  • Expresses in his/her own way the total meaning of the surahs included in the curriculum.
  • Applies the rules of Tajweed: Allam Al Shamsyah and Allam Al Qamariyah (Allam in the word Allah).
  • Recites 8 hadiths:
    • “A believer who is strong (and healthy) is better and dearer to Allah than the weak believer.
    • It is enough for a man to prove himself a liar when he goes on narrating whatever he hears."
    • "Salat in congregation is twenty-seven times more meritorious than a Salat performed individually."
    • "He who believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him show hospitality to his guest.
    • The Prophet (SAWS) never used bad language neither a "Fahish nor a Mutafahish. He used to say "The best amongst you are those who have the best manners and character."

    • "Allah will be pleased with His slave who praises Him (i.e., says Al-hamdu lillah) when he eats and praises Him when he drinks".

  • Speak about clothes and when to wear different types of them.

    • The rules of Heaviness/Lightness Letters

    - "Do you know who is the bankrupt?"

    - "I guarantee a house in Jannah for one who gives up arguing, even if he is in the right;
    - Mercy is taken away only from him who is miserable.
    - Whenever the Prophet was given a choice between two matters, he would (always) choose the easier.
    - "Read the Qur'an, for it will come as an intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection."
    - Rabia'a ibn Kaab Al Aslmy says I was with Allah's Messenger one night. and I brought him water and what he required. He said to me: Ask (anything you like). I said: I ask your company in Paradise.

Islamic Studies course objectives - 
At the end of this grade the learner should be able to:

  • The student shows recitation and understanding of the surahs of Al Sajda and Al Mulk.
  • Interprets the total meaning of the surahs of Al Sajda and Al Mulk.
  • Concludes the directions and rules set out in the surahs of Al Sajda and Al Mulk.
  • Reads the following surahs: Al Qalam, Al Haqah, Al Maerj and Noah as per the Tajweed rules.
  • Applies the rules of Tajweed (Al Noon Al Saknah and Tanween).
  • Recites 8 hadiths:
    - "Man's feet will not move on the Day of Resurrection before he is asked.
    - How wonderful is the case of a believer;
    - O boy! I will instruct you in some matters.
    - The similitude of good company and that of bad company is that of the owner of musk and of the one blowing the bellows.
    - There are three signs of a hypocrite.

If you already have an account, you will still need to fill out this special enrollment form and our Team will simply add the appropriate classes to your child's account once the application form and fee are received. You will then be able to schedule your child's placement test.

After successfully completing the placement test, your child's schedule will be confirmed and he/she will be added to the classes, which will open on the first day of the new semester.

My child is not available to take class at the times offered for this program. Do you have other times available? 

Our Online Islamic School will be held live daily for 45 minutes from Monday to Friday, as well as on Saturday and Sunday for those signing up for the optional Whole Quran Track. Upon completing the enrollment form, please indicate your timing preferences among the four offered for the weekday classes. Please note that these timings are subject to availability and will be confirmed prior to the beginning of the semester.

Since our Online Islamic School is made of group classes, we cannot make individual times. If the schedules don't work for you and your child, we suggest that you enroll them in our online one-on-one classes which are available 24/7.

Additional Note on Class Timings: 

Classes are on scheduled times, daily. If, for any reason, a class needs to be rescheduled or a schedule needs to be adjusted, students will be notified ahead of time.

When is the registration deadline? 

Registration closes on the first day of class. Please refer to our Academic Calendar on this page to find out when the school year starts.

How many children are enrolled in each group? 

Our Online Islamic School classes have between 5 and 8 students enrolled in each group. There may be multiple groups for each level.

What is the language of instruction? 

For the Arabic track, while some explanations for coursework and homework might be given in English especially in the Beginner and Elementary levels, our teachers use Arabic as the main language of instruction, relying on images and animations when needed to help your child learn and understand. For the Quran and Islamic Studies tracks, although key terms related to each subject will be given in Arabic, English will be the main medium of communication and Arabic terms will be translated or explained.

There are different levels. How will you know which one is suitable for my child? 

Our Online Islamic School is based on level and age. We currently offer 13 levels that correspond to the American school system (i.e. Kindergarten through 12th grade) in terms of age. Your child will take an initial placement test which will help us determine the appropriate level for them, with attention given to their age.

Once my child has completed a Year, will they get a certificate? 

Yes! Upon completing each Year, you will receive an email notification letting you know that your child's certificate has been added to their online portal account.
